White Water Rafting

Dandeli

Kali River, Dandeli

This is the best way to see the endangered and stunning environment through which the The  Kali River flows. The Kali offers a great opportunity to paddle through numerous, exciting  technical class 3 rapids. The beautiful surroundings are home to a wide range of wildlife,  including a flourishing bird life, in particular several species of very rare Hornbills. Monkeys,  elephants, wild boars, cheetah and sambar deer, crocodiles, giant squirrels and even sightings  of leopards and a black panther have been recorded from the boats. The most common tour is  "The Kali" and is (9 km) long, offering nearly two hours on the water. There are many great fun  rapids to be found in these incredible surroundings. For the true nature lovers a "Kali Special"  (14 km) is offered for groups, giving nearly three hours to enjoy the river and surroundings.  Including transport and briefing both these tours will take up half a day. This is a really pristine, uninhabited, spotlessly clean and very rare environment to raft through. A totally unique rafting trip that can be rated as one of the most beautiful stretches in the world. Since it is highly endangered and may not be here for many years to come we advise you to see it whilst you can. Our tours on the Kali River are run in association with Jungle Lodges And resorts, Govt. Of Karnataka and our bases are at their properties in Dandeli and Ganeshgudi. See "Contact"

Coorg Rafting.

Upper Barapole River

Coorg is a mountainous area of rice paddy valleys, forested ridges and heavy monsoon rains. Tucked away in the Southern Corner of this district is our river. The Upper Barapole River drains the eastern flanks of Brahmagiri Ghats. A catchment area of enormous rainfall during the south west monsoon, which provides run off into the upper stretches of the Barapole River, known as Kithu Kakathu River. Then pouring into a small gorge we get the first section of good rapids which can become rather difficult in higher water levels. After a 4 km calm section the river then drops through several kilometres of class 3, 4 and even class 5 rapids before it enters Brahmagiri Wildlife Sanctuary plummeting over a 120 feet falls. Needless to say we do not raft beyond this section. We run 3 stretches of this highly technical and (in high water levels) very difficult class 3 to 4 rapids. Not to be missed!
