1. Jungle Lodges
& Resorts, Old Magazine House Forest Camp, Ganeshgudi
This is the main
base for rafting guests. It is situated in a very thick pocket of evergreen
forest and offers a real forest experience whether in the rustic "ethnic
huts" or for the budget travelers the "bunk
house". Just 10 minutes away from the rafting start point this is
the most convenient place to stay for rafting guests.
Spend the evening on the "sunset forest trail"
around the camp with breathtaking views of the Supa lake to the west.
The camp has been designed with a very eco-sensitive
approach. Minimal but sufficient electricity and lanterns give the place a charm
at night time and construction has been done using local, age old ideas.The
restaurant has been built on top of the "bunk house" and the two buildings
that existed before the camp came up were originally dynamite
and magazine stores from the days when the nearby Supa Dam was built.
Hence the name "Old Magazine House". For the real jungle experience
with all the necessary comforts, solitude, silence and
inexpensive, this is defiantly the place to stay. You
will meet our rafting crew here.

is a large resort built on the banks of the Kali
River in Dandeli.
Though located near the town is very comfortable and has become
famous over several years as a good place to stay for rafters. Other activities
can be taken here like safari to the Dandeli Wildlife Sanctuary, crocodile
watching trips downstream from the lodge and local forest sight seeing.
The room rates for the Kali River lodge are more expensive than "The
Old Magazine House" but for those that want a bit more
luxury and maybe do not feel so comfortable at the more rustic Ganeshgudi
Camp then a stay
at Kali is well worth it.

to Gonikoppa from Mysore then to Ponampet (6km) then to Hudikere (12km) then
to T.Shettigeri (11km) then take a right turn onto Birunani Road. Keep to the
right and follow the road for 3km through the Tata Tea Estate to K.K.R Bridge.
